Born in the former Republic of Zaire, Patrick moved as a refugee to the Netherlands at the age of 4. He made his professional debut at the age of eighteen for FC Eindhoven having played throughout their youth academy, and remained there for four seasons, scoring 20 goals. In 2014, he moved to Eerste Division rivals Fortuna Sittard for two seasons where despite Fortuna holding up the bottom of the league, he notched 28 goals over both campaigns.

At the end of his Fortuna contract, Patrick left the Netherlands for Romania and played there for two seasons, for Petrolul then Rapid Bucharest. A return to the Netherlands saw him spend one season with Eerste Division contenders MVV Maastricht in 2016-17, where he helped them reach the Eredivise promotion playoffs.

A bizarre twist during the 2017-18 pre-season saw Patrick announced as having signed for Thai club Sukhothai, however, days later it emerged that he had signed a one year deal at United following a recommendation from former Terrors favourite Freddy van der Hoorn.
