Born in Berlin, Germany, Luis Zwick started playing football at the age of seven with Teltower FC 1913 where he played as a youth before switching to Hertha 03 Zehlendorf in 2009. Initially playing as a left midfielder, it wasn't until 2007 that he became recognised as a goalkeeper.
At 20 years old, Luis moved to Scotland to join United during the 2014-15 pre-season, signing his first professional contract. Having playing regularly for the Development Squad, he was later called up to the first team as an unused substitute for the 2-0 defeat to Partick Thistle on February 28, 2015, filling in for the suspended Michal Szromnik. In August the following season, he made his debut as United's first choice goalkeeper for the club's league opener against Aberdeen. Luis shared the number one shirt with Michal Szromnik prior to the arrival of Eiji Kawashima and then competed for the backup spot throughout the remainder of the 2015-16 season.
