First Team Debuts

Alex Taylor scored his first goal for the Club.

The unfurling of the league flag ceremony was the prelude to a championship style performance by United. It took almost half an hour for United to open their account when Billy Kirkwood bulleted a header past Hugh Sproat from a perfect Alex Taylor cross. Tannadice fans only had to wait until four minutes into the second half for the second goal.

Again Alex Taylor was the architect as his perfectly centred corner was headed in strongly by Paul Hegarty despite the despairing efforts of the 'Well 'keeper, In the 63rd minute Alex Taylor opened his scoring account in the first team with a fine individual effort from the edge of the box. Billy Kirkwood completed the scoring four minutes from time when he ran on to head Ralph Milne's well flighted cross from the left.
