First Team Debuts

Milestones
Ian Mitchell reached 30 goals for the Club.

United ended the season in better fashion than they had begun it by grabbing the two points to hoist their 17 game second half tally to an impressive 28 points—having picked up only eight from the opening half of the term. A smart start by the home men was nevertheless wasted when chance after chance was squandered. But Dennis Gillespie changed all that when he rose to nod in a perfect Dossing cross to edge United ahead. However, the Fir Park visitors hit back six minutes later when Coakley cut back a pass for Donnachie to net the equaliser. But the opening minutes of the second half sent United into a lead they never looked likely to lose thereafter. Örjan Persson beat full-back Thomson and powered a glorious volley past Peter McCloy in the 'Well goal. the contest was over soon afterwards when Ian Mitchell completed the scoring from close range.

None.
