First Team Debuts

Milestones

Championship seeking Dunfermline faced United with a 100% home record still intact that term. But facing them was United Dane Finn Dossing who travelled to East End Park with the remarkable scoring record of having netted in-each of his previous twelve outings. And it was the marksman supreme who had the last laugh when blasting in a goal which brought the Fifers unbeaten home run to an end.

The game was finely balanced in stalemate until the 58th minute when Finn Døssing shrugged off two tackles near the centre line and made a beeline for Jim Herriot's goal. Despite further attempts to dislodge him from the ball he powered his way into the box and hammered a low shot past the Dunfermline 'keeper. Orjan Persson all but added to that lead later when he saw an angled effort rebound from the far post but in the end it was United who were lucky to escape in the dying minutes when Kilgannon hoisted over the top with the vacant goal staring him in the face.
