First Team Debuts

Milestones

A tremendous goal by Thomas Andersson after 15 minutes was enough to establish A.I.K's single goal lead tonight.

The goal by the Swede came out of the blue, but by half-time A.I.K. could have had an even more commanding lead after a poor first half performance by United.

The second half was a different story, however, as United found their rhythm. Stuart Beedie on two occasions, Richard Gough and Paul Sturrock all went close but in the final minutes there was a narrow escape for United.

Billy Thomson made a great save from a header by Dahlkvist, Johansson latched on to the rebound but fortunately from United's viewpoint he blasted the ball way over the top.

Although United's second half performance was a great improvement on the opening half, there were few complaints in the United camp at the final result.
