First Team Debuts

Milestones

The Dons unceremoniously dumped United out of the Scottish Cup at Tannadice. The visitors carried just too much fire-power against a United eleven that couldn't be faulted for lack of effort. The Tannadice defence were at sixes and sevens when Bertie Miller gave them the lead after just seven minutes when he slotted in the opener. However United spurned a great chance to equalise 10 minutes later.

The punishment for a soft handball offence was a penalty, but Clark was to save Kenny Cameron's spot-kick. Joe Harper did not miss from 12 yards in the 65th minute after Wattie Smith had pulled the chunky Dons striker down. Two minutes later Harper hooked home their third from Miller's cross and right on time Willie Young made contact with a Hermiston free-kick to head home a fourth.
