First Team Debuts

Milestones

Although a goalless draw is never an entirely satisfactory spectacle, there was enough goalmouth activity and incident to keep the crowd on their toes. Early pressure by us was soon countered by Dundee. The first real chances, however, fell to us. Eamonn Bannon fired just over and then Stewart Forsyth came to Dundee's rescue after Torn Carson failed to hold a Dave Bowman drive. Mixu followed up but the Dundee full-back diverted the Finn's net-bound shot for a corner. Dundee replied with a Keith Wright header which hit the bar. The game went a bit flat after this brisk start but a minute before the interval Ian Redford hammered a first time shot past the post.

Ten minutes into the second half Maurice Malpas was shown the red card after a clash with Vince Mennie, but though down to ten men we still more than held our own. Alan Main saved a Keith Wright header whilst Carson tipped a fierce Eamonn Bannon drive to safety. The only other real chance fell to Vince Mennie whose volley was ably saved by Alan Main, which meant both sides still have it all to do tonight.
