Christmas came early for United against luckless Cappielow side that hadn't won in eleven outings after this latest calamity, indecision by Roy Baines let Dave Narey into head the first after only three minutes. The 'keeper was hesitant again in the 16th minute when Andy Gray stroked in our second. Paul Hegarty nodded in a third from a Doug Houston cross in the 23rd minute. A slip by George Anderson in the 51st minute was pounced on by Andy Gray who slammed in the fourth. PPaul Hegarty notched his second of the match in the 60th minute, finishing off a superb move. Andy Rolland was upended in the box for Frank Kopel to blast home the sixth.
