First Team Debuts

Milestones
George Fleming played his 100th major competitive game for the Club.
Dave Narey scored his first goal for the Club.

Just one month short of his 18th birthday, Dave Narey scored his first goal for the club, notching the opening goal in the 10th minute against Greenock Morton at Tannadice.

Hugh McIlmoyle equalised two minutes before the interval, but Duncan MacLeod put United back in front from the penalty spot before grabbing a second with 18 minutes to go. Former United midfielder Alex Reid - on loan at Morton from Newcastle United - pulled one back with five minutes to go, but MacLeod completed his hat-trick in the dying minutes for a 4-2 win in United's final match of the 1973/74 season.
