First Team Debuts

Milestones

The Fifers ended up with a point they scarcely deserved from this clash.

A shock Joe Hughes opener for the visitors rocked United but within eight minutes Ian Mitchell had headed United onto level terms from an Andy Rolland cross.

The Tangerines dominated from then on and deservedly went ahead when Ian Mitchell again found the net with just 20 minutes remaining. But as the Methil men abandoned their defensive shell in search of a leveller, it came- via the benevolence of the Tannadice defence. 'Keeper Donald Mackay misjudged a Bernard cross and Hughes was left with a simple tap-in to score his second and the equaliser.
