First Team Debuts

Milestones

The second Derby of the week brought us our second victory, though this time by a reduced margin, but it did open up a three point gap over our City rivals in the chase for a UEFA Cup spot. Familiarity brought an air of stalemate in the first Half with few shots on goal.

The second half opened with a succession of United raids around Geddes' goal. Then in 52 minutes came the decisive moment of the match. Eamonn Bannon's pass found Joe McLeod out on the left and his curling cross was headed powerfully by Hamish French, Bobby, Geddes appeared to have saved his header, but allowed the ball to slip from his grasp and over the line. We continued to dominate and late on a great run by Hamish French almost brought a second goal, but his parting shot skimmed the top of the bar, Dundee's final effort was a header from Harvey which Alan Main saved well.
