First Team Debuts

Milestones

Against a stiff breeze United soon went ahead with a great goal. A searching Gibson pass sent Milne clear on the right and Ralph's low cross was hammered past Rough by the dangerous Paul Sturrock. Jags equalised when a looping McDonald cross was headed home by Donald Park, the smallest man on the park.

United resumed with Reilly on for Davie Dodds who had taken a knock and the sub got the winner. Gibson again supplied the ammo with a cute lob forward and young John Reilly ran on to blast the ball past the helpless Scotland 'keeper. United were far from their best but still had great service from Malpas, Gough, Narey, Gibson and Sturrock.
