First Team Debuts

Milestones
Jim Cameron played his 100th major competitive game for the Club.

Aberdeen visited Tannadice with a good league run immediately behind them, and throughout the opening half theyappeared happy to settle for sharing the points with an ultra-defensive formation proving capable of thwarting all that United could offer. However, four minutes after half-time an attempted clearance by Danish defender Henning Boel rebounded off Ian Mitchell and the forward followed up to send United ahead. Near things at both ends kept the fans on their toes with goal-line clearances completed by United's Dennis iGillespie and Dons' George Murray. But United finally clinched the win when Stuart Markland nodded on a free-kick to Kenny Cameron and no mistake was made with a close-in header.

None.
