First Team Debuts

Milestones

This was a much improved display by Hearts and although there were no goals it proved a very entertaining game. Hearts had a goal disallowed and they also missed a number of good openings before and after the intuval

It looked good for Hearts early on when Donald Ford hit a great shot past goalkeeper Mackay, but the celebrating was cut short by referee Gordon who awarded United a free kick and indicated that the goalkeeper had been fouled.

Kevin Hegarty missed from close range late in the game when he was in good position after a cross from the left, and then he had a close-range header cleared off the line by Cameron. Lynch did well. after he replaced Eric Carruthers in the second half. Peter Oliver was unlucky to be booked for a tackle that was no worse than many during the game.
